Since its founding in 1980, Swiss watch manufacturer Hublot has accomplished a great deal and attracted a loyal following. Hublot means “porthole” in French and a good number of their watch cases take inspiration from this shape.


Brawny and singular in design, this Hublot King Power lives up to its name by exuding stateliness and admirable ability.

First, the brushed finish of the 18K rose gold case is positively superb. The case itself measures a healthy 48 mm in diameter and sports a black carbon fiber / black rubber checkerboard-patterned bezel with six classic “H” titanium screws that have undergone rugged Black PVD treatment.

Additionally, the exhibition case back allows one to see the movement in action, and this watch has a water resistance to 100 m / 10 atm, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, an 18K rose gold push / pull winding crown, and rests upon a fashionably textured black rubber strap with a push-button folding clasp.

In a flurry of activity the black-colored skeletonized dial is alive with motion and functionality. First, there are applied and luminous rose gold-toned indexes as well as partially skeletonized rose gold-toned and luminous hour and minute hands. A minute track with Arabic numerals is found upon the outer edge.

Chronograph functions include a central seconds hand as well as a 60-minute counter found at 3 o’clock. As a flyback chronograph, one can quickly and easily restart the chronograph with a single push of a button. There is a small seconds subdial at 9.
