Officine Panerai has roots dating back to 1860 when the company was founded in Florence, Italy, by Giovanni Panerai. Panerai built its solid reputation on supplying precision timekeeping instruments to the Italian navy and developing waterproof watches for soldiers who found themselves in extreme environments. More recently, the company moved its headquarters to Neuchâtel, Switzerland, where they have been producing quality in-house manufacture movements.

This Luminor 1950 GMT 10 Days Ceramica by Panerai is an automatic timepiece. As such, it features Panerai's Caliber P.2003, 25 jewels, 28,800 alternations an hour, a KIF Parechoc anti-shock device, and a terrific ten-day power reserve. The super-durable black ceramic case measures a robust 44 mm in diameter. In addition, the case possesses a scratch-resistant antireflective curved sapphire crystal, a see-through smoked sapphire crystal case back, a screw-down Panerai-personalized winding crown, and a 100 m / 10 atm water resistance. The case rests upon a black Panerai-personalized rubber strap with a large matte titanium buckle with hard black coating.

The black-colored dial showcases luminous hands and markers, including large Arabic numerals at 12, 9 and 6. There is a subsidiary seconds counter and 24-hour counter at 9 o’clock, a date window at 3 o’clock, and a power reserve indicator above 6 o’clock.
